Guide to Laser Vascular Treatment

Laser vascular lesion treatment is not a new technology and it has been around for about 3 decades. In the early days, the laser machine uses continuous wave to treat skin regions that have vascular lesions. The downside of traditional vascular laser treatment is that it can cause damage to the skin cells surrounding the treated skin lesion. Nowadays, newer laser technology like Vbeam Perfecta that is safer for treating vascular lesions has been introduced. It offers dynamic cooling feature so your skin surface will feel cool during the treatment.

Vbeam Perfecta uses a micropulse technology to reduce the bruising effects on the skin. The micropulse laser will be divided into eight micro burst laser rays so that more energy will be focused on the treated region. The laser will be focused on the area for some time so that you won’t feel a lot of heat on the vascular skin lesion. Vbeam Perfecta is a premium skin lesion laser technology that aims to reduce the purpura side effect.

Vbeam Perfecta vascular treatment laser machine is ideal to be used in all forms of facial vascular lesions including rosacea, cherry angiomas, telangiectasias, port wine stains, warts, poikiloderma, and spider veins. When the Vbeam Perfecta’s laser is focused on the vascular lesion, you will feel just a bit of hot or cold feeling on the treated area. Usually, no anesthesia will be administered on the treated skin region because there is very little feeling of pain.

A dye is used to generate a number of colors from the pulse laser beam that is focused on the vascular skin area. The laser will not cause any injury to the skin cells surrounding the treated skin area. You have to undergo several treatments before the lesion will completely disappear. The lesion should have faded away for at least 50% after you have attended at least 3 treatments. You have the option of undergoing maintenance treatment to ensure that the lesion has 100% disappeared.

Vbeam Perfecta has been tested to have high success rate in various studies and clinical trials. These studies show an improvement of at least 80% in the patients that have volunteered to undergo the treatment sessions. The skilled laser technician will selectively target the laser beam from Vbeam Perfecta laser machine so that the surrounding tissue won’t be exposed to the laser ray. It is very safe to use Vbeam Perfecta to treat skin lesion even on newborn baby.

Following the treatment, you may notice that the pigmentation of the treated skin region has changed. Prior to undergoing the treatment, make sure you don’t let the skin lesion get exposed to the sun. You should not worry about this as the pigmentation of the skin will return to the normal color within a short period. After the treatment session, you can use ice packs to get rid of the slight discomfort caused by the redness on the treated vascular lesion. It is advised that you don’t scrub the lesion in the post treatment.
