After the drab and colourless winter, it is time for some fun in the sun! A warm summer day can make you feel carefree but there are certain things that you have to be mindful about, especially when your skin is concerned. While you soak in the summer sunshine feeling good all the way, let me tell you, it is doing more harm than good to your skin.

I am going to reveal some awesome secrets behind having fabulous skin throughout summer. And they all actually work wonders!

    Remember these summer skincare tips

    1. Water – Your skin’s best friend

Dehydration is the most common problem during the summer. Do you know the reason? All thanks to our habit of not drinking enough water. Dehydration is your skin’s number one enemy as it invites acne, pre-mature ageing, wrinkles, and skin laxity. I am sure that you don’t want to be a recipient when skin problems are concerned. So, drink at least 7-8 glasses of water everyday and always carry a bottle of water wherever you go. Remember to drink it every 30 minutes. This is a very effective way to regulate your body’s temperature, remove toxins and keep dehydration away.

    2. A clean face is a happy face

Believe me when I say this. There is no such happiness as keeping your face fresh and clean. During the warmer months, it is natural that you’ll sweat way too more. Also, as you sweat dust particles get easily attracted and settle inside your skin pores. If you do not clean your face, these pores get blocked and you have pimples and break-outs. A lot of people come to me suggesting for tips and advice to control pimples and break-outs. All you need to do is

Clean your face regularly with a cleanser twice a day – once before bath and again after returning from outside.

Wash your face 3-4 times a day with clean water

    3. Use natural or organic cosmetics

Do you use cosmetics that are made of chemicals? It is time to switch to natural and safe cosmetics! Most of the cosmetics contain harmful chemicals like Parabens and Salicylate that cause skin irritation, rashes and allergy coupled with other side effects. And if you use these chemical-containing cosmetics in the summer, your skin condition can become worse. So what should you do? Use cosmetics that are made from purely natural ingredients. These are relatively safer for your skin with no side effects. What else? You can use them in other seasons also and not just in summer. They do not contain irritating chemicals and enhance your appeal at the same time. Did anyone say summer time means no-make up time? Not anymore when you use organic cosmetics.

    4. Don’t forget your sunscreen

Is your skin extremely dry or has fine lines and brown spots? Probably, you are not using a sunscreen. Stepping out in the sun and not wearing sunscreen is committing a crime against your skin. Direct exposure to the sun can lead to all the skin problems mentioned above. Sunscreen protects your skin against the harmful rays of the sun. Apply this at least 15 minutes before you go out in the sun and reapply every 2 hours.

    5. Go for rejuvenating facials

If your skin show signs of laxity, fatigue, wrinkles or damage, don’t wait any longer. Afterall, spending almost the entire day outside during the warm months is bound to show its impact on your skin. Some massage therapies and beauty treatments are all you need to bring back the summer glow on your skin!

    Conclusion

Besides these, don’t forget to wear comfortable and    light-coloured clothes and eat cool foods and drinks (smoothies, green veggies, vitamin C, salads, etc.) On the whole, summer may be the best part of the year to have fun and at the same time, your skin needs your love and care too. With the tips mentioned above, you can achieve your summer skin goals successfully. Remember! ‘skin is a beautiful thing, so wear it beautifully’.
